Incredibly High SP On Domestic Flight

So I have a CHC - Queenstown flight booked coming up. Booked late, had to fly times for business over a very busy period, so my return fare ended up being ~$500 ($200 there/$300 back).

Well... going there, I am earning 11 SP... and on the way back... earning 28 SP. Just a seat fare, no bags or anything.

I am genuinely shocked by this. I don't think I've ever had a 28 SP flight! I know there is no rhyme or reason for how Air NZ calculates it's domestic SP... but has there been a bump I've missed, or is this just random luck? My flight coming home is on the turbo prop, and those usually end up being a pitiful 4 SP, even if my fare wasn't the cheapest...

In January I had a Full Economy Fare (Flexiplus) WLG to CHC earning 23 SP the return was a Smart Saver Economy Fare (Flexiplus) earning 10 SP.

I got 28 SP for CHC>WLG last week but it was a connection from a (sale) J fare from SIN.

WLG-AKL I have hit 30+ one way and think up to a 68 return for Seat. Was buying a couple of days ahead flying in morning or evening peak.

I got 20 yesterday for AKL-PMR for an international connection, 10 outbound. This compares with 3 or 4 for most of my connections last year, all flights connecting to J.

Have had a few 28+ SP flights domestically. Makes me very happy, probably makes my boss have a small stroke

In 2017 I was consistently able to get 20SP's (for domestic jet routes, CHC-DUD/CHC-WLG) in W on a Flexitime and for around $200/sector. In 2018, W on a Flexitime (for domestic jet routes, CHC-DUD/CHC-WLG) only earns 16SP's and well north of $200.

I got 24 status points for a 17 minute flight this morning! Wellington to Blenheim. More than a point per minute!

Iím flying WLG-HAM return tomorrow. Direct flight outbound earns 1.20APD & 8SP. Return leg is via PMR earning 8APD & 19SP.
Compensation for a short stop in Palmy perhaps?
😀

I had a WLG-NPE-CHC (One of those Wellington weather events :/ ) which netted me 20 AP and 48 SP. My original direct WLG-CHC ATR was only going to earn me 1 AP and 4 SP.

also a recent AKL-IUE got me a random 12 AP and 58 SP for a Works fare purchased on a Grabaseat sale (under $250) Crazy!

I think folks need to post what the fare cost as well as the the earn, otherwise not sure any useful comparison can be made....?

WLG-DUD (one-way FlexiDate) $487 (full Y sadly) , SP 34, APD 17.
