How early can you check in for domestic flights?
We have an upcoming trip to New Zealand and at one point will be flying from Christchurch to Wellington on Air New Zealand. We would like to be able to check our luggage and run over to the International Antarctic Centre. Can we check the luggage far enough ahead to do this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

They have at times had a 2 hour limit, but IME this is waived for premium members if you go to the desk

WLG sometimes has restrictions, due to limited baggage storage during busy travel periods.

To explain in a bit more detail; AirNZ uses a self-service kiosk for checkin including printing boarding pass and the baggage tags, which you affix yourself, and then take to the belt to be dropped off. Air NZ Staff occupy the bag drop area and it can get congested when they might ask an overweight looking bag to be weighed.
however, there is a premium desk, usually with a person, to manage NZ/Star Gold passengers if needed.

Thanks all.
We are not Air Points members, but we are *G via MileagePlus and are flying on Flexidate fares. Will we be able to use the premium counters?
