it depends on your status and what cabin you are flying in
7kg per item if no status up to 10kg with status
if no status or in economy cabin then technically a full backpack would not qualify as the allowed small personal item

First time flyer on NZ
We are on flt 6 sitting in 35 a&b.
Seat guru says the armrest does not come up.
any one have these seats on a long haul?
I’m just wondering if these are uncomfortable?
also how strict are they with carry ones? I will have a roller bag and back pack.
Thanks

Are you flying on NZ metal or the Eva Air leased aircraft?
Air NZ baggage limit is 7kg + personal item. If you are to exceed this you are unlikely to be pinged unless it is excessive but should certainly be prepared to pinged if you are going to exceed the allowance.

agreed pinging is not all that likely, but a backpack, most likely, does exceed the AirNZ definition of a personal item
