It seems like they are trying to encourage loyalty through this kind of annual recap, but from most of these posts it appears to mostly highlight the poor APD earn.
I'm surprised NZ doesn't have a 'Lifetime SP' / Kms flown etc on this email, surely that would add to the longer term loyalty factor? Then again they don't have any lifetime benefits / tiers like the US airlines have (1 million, 10 million miles club).
FWIW I flew 18 times this year with NZ for 898 APD

Terrible earn. Its why almost all of those flights were domestic, my 50 or so international flights all on other carriers

No letter last year no letter this year but not fussed. I get what people say about the earn but I think we're lucky with the credit card earn so it cancels out the flying issue for me.

Its been a quiet year!
Emirates have my 2 European trips in 2019 in a combination First (Auckland - Dubai) and Business (Dubai - Barcelona) in less time, less cosy, less stops than Air NZ. Business.

I got this email a day late. So who knows. As someone that works with email a lot, when you're doing it on the scale that Air NZ does, you're going to have some errors/people not getting their messages.
