About blimmin time! The community has been desperate for direct flights to AKL. I know lots of people who travel to ZQN and DUD to take advantage of the direct flights.

I don't think they will have any problem filling it.

Wow that is great news - i often have driven to ZQN to get a direct flight rather than pay $600 OW to get back to AKL

Awesome. Great alternative to Queenstown and it's a step closer to Stewart Island. Hope the service stands the test of time.

It used to be the "fun" alternative to ZQN if you missed the curfew!!

I remember the 737 service to IVC from WLG in the 1980's. The return flight stopped in DUD on the way back.

I have to admit I'd still rather get to my destination late and wake up where I am supposed to be than stuffing around returning to Auckland or wherever and having to do it all again the next day. As they say, better late than never!

Presumably this means IVC now has security screening.

IVC sold its air bridges a few years ago, does the 320 board with stairs?

I remember the ATR air bridge at IVC. Great until it hit the side of the plane

I wonder if the delayed start date is to allow for terminal alterations, or reconfiguration given it is a new building and this scenario must have been expected to happen at some stage by the 'learned visionaries' who designed and approved it (or maybe not, given these are the same people who got rid of the air bridges and mezanine floor!).

The place will be packed at 6am as there are turboprop flights that leave around then to CHC and WLG also and it gets busy already. I find it difficult to see how the current space could be reconfigured suitably so maybe another building project to cater to the need to seperate security screened passengers - what about the Koru Lounge?.
