According to the press release, the Wi-Fi rollout on the 777-300 was meant to be completed by June 2018. What's the hold-up?

I'm fairly certain all 77W's have WiFi.

Apparently there is a minor engine issue with the Dreamliner fleet.

I flew the 773 AKL-SYD on Dec 30th and took advantage of the free wifi at various points throughout the flight... and was very pleasantly surprised by the speed, which according to fast.com on my iPhone ranged from 10 to 12 Mbps download (fastest I've seen on a plane).

Tried QF's nbn Sky Muster powered wifi? That's quite an impressive service, with QF not only not discouraging streaming media use but actively encouraging Netflix and providing all pax with 3 months free Netflix for flying on QF wifi enabled equipment.

Biggest catch with QF’s current setup is they only have coverage while over Australia and currently don’t have an agreement that allows connectivity outside of Australia..... QF is expecting to have International Wifi on in the early 2020s...

No I haven't yet - have not been on the Red Rat domestically for quite a while.

Looks like the “Christmas Special” has now been extended till the end of March.... could almost call it an “Easter Special”.

Wonder if there plans are to offer it free longer term? But just giving an date as out clause.

Was actually pretty impressive on NZ707. Free and fast. A321 NEO. If it’s that fast I would actually pay for it. Lots of work emails done on the flight!

They're calling it the Inflight Wi-Fi Summer Special on their website: https://www.airnewzealand.com/WiFi.

I don't think any 789's have WiFi. Only 772's and 77W's.

Nope no 789s have it fitted.. But the IFE welcome screen tells you that it'll be available after take-off.
