All A321neo flights disappeared
Looking on Air NZ's website, it seems all A321neo flights have been replaced by A320's. However, the booking engine behaves strangely when selecting these former A321 flights (eg flight details don't display at the top like they normally do during booking). Also, seat select isn't available for any of these flights.

May be the CAA reminded them they have to get type cert before they can fly commerically? Remember the 789 having to do some CAA stuff which meant ANA got the first 789 flight. Seeing Japan had signed off the 788 there was less paper work.

There is plenty of speciation as to why the delivery keeps getting pushed back. My understanding is there is no confirmed date at present.

Hopefully they are ‘re-thinking’ making them all Y! A couple of rows of PE would be very nice, surely they could fill 8 seats on routes like AKL-SYD,MEL,RAR

ANA was always going to have the first flight but it was a charter / sight seeing flight so not commercial. Air NZ did the first 789 commercial flight.

I can now see the seat selection on a flight that did not show it some days ago (APW-AKL, op by A321neo). However, the seat map displayed does not match the one published on NZ's website
The website says:
and the seat selection looks like this:
The website says:
Space+ SeatsRows 2 - 9, seats ABC and Rows 2 - 7, seats DEF

Rows 1-5A/C and 1-3D/F are Works Deluxe seats, so are not available for selection, until (I assume) airport control if they are unsold?
Effectively only 3 rows of Space+ seats for frequent flyers is going to make it competitive. I'm sure there will be a lot of status/Koru passengers stuck down in the 29" rows on the Australian flights.

My Christmas Eve flight from AKL-WLG has me back in an A321neo again today. Hooray!

Space+ at only 83cm on the 321 will be a rude shock to those used to, and maybe even (k)need, the generous 88cm on the 320.
