Would they be different than AKL-LAX on NZ 6 or even NZ2?

NZ 284 AKL-SIN Nov 2 2018

B 789 Fin ZK-NZQ

Some of the food items were great, drinks were excellent and service was outstanding.

A great welcome on NZ, as always for me.

Perfect choice.

I realize others might be bored by these things perhaps, but I am impressed with what NZ provides on the IFE in terms of wines information and destination information.

Other wine options on the trolley.

Nice selection.

I also really enjoyed the Pinot Noir and the smoked salmon appetizer was great.

Beautiful presentation.

The beef was nice but I actually enjoyed the side items more.

Ah, ice cream, my preference for NZ dessert porn.

Spiced apple crumble ice cream with butterscotch sauce.

But it was missing something that reminded me of the awesome chocolate chip mint on my June NZ flight.

Ahhhhh......

Now this was outstanding. lol

Some items in the snack selection.

Dinner meal service prior to arrival.

This was the duck (just took the photo)

This cold beef appetizer was really nice. Great flavours.

The salmon main was also great, really nice flavours and the zucchini was crisp. Not a fan of dill sauce so I ignored it.

Beautiful presentation as well.

Neither I nor nearby seat mates were too excited by the new desserts.

This is the ginger one. I did not have this, just took the photo.

This looked like an episode of chocolate porn but I don't like mousse anything, and this lacked texture.

FA offered me fruit and it was fine.

That food is so much more exciting than the bland stuff served up on NZ8 a few weeks ago.

See, you should have flown with me - even if just for the entertainment value.

Oh that looks sad, which is a whole level below "unexciting". What was the other option?

Also, although I didn't opt for the hot meal, my breakfast on NZ 6 (upthread) was great - that waffle......

24Left - great post and it looks like you got some good looking food to enjoy.
SBiddle - did you ask what the economy options were?

Is there any meaningful difference between NZ's menus to/from IAH compared to their LAX/SFO options? In particular, do they do a supper-style meal service ex-USA? The flight departs at a similar hour but given the 1.5h extra flight time do they serve a more substantial dinner menu? (I'm flying SYD-AKL-IAH in PE and IAH-AKL-SYD in biz in March - will be first time back on longhaul premium classes on NZ in quite some time, so I'm out of touch. At least there are decent lounge options in Houston these days.)
