Page 51 shows the addition of 3 x A321neo to domestic services by 2020 to replace the 3 older A320ceo aircraft that will move across from short haul to domestic.

Is that how to read it? I was struggling to understand it.

Which could then line up with the statement on page 55 "excludes orders of up to five A320/321NEOs with purchase substitution rights"
Although that statement as been around for an while, maybe it finally makes sense? Does it mean they have 13 firm orders, plus another 5 uncommitted orders in place? so un fact have 18 NEO's on order but only 13 are firmed.

Maybe we could see these 5x A321NEO played out as 3x A321NEO delivered FY20 for Domestic, 2xA321NEO delivered FY21 for Domestic? for example there is nothing beyond 2020 the A320/1 fleet that is public yet.

https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/air-nz-commits-to-taking-seven-more-a321neos-451351/

Now three CEOs to domestic fleet then one to one swap. On NEO 320 push back. Will be interesting to see if combine SH & domestic fleet and give them all ETOPS, HF, rafts, etc

I'm wondering if they are waiting to see if they can get ZQN A321 certified before they commit to taking the A320NEO's. The current owned Domestic 320CEO will still have another 5-10 years life left in them.

Since they have now committed to additional 7x A321NEO's for Domestic - would make sense longer term to replace the entire A320 fleet, then maybe some A220-100s?

It wouldn't surprise me to see no A320neo aircraft ever arrive in the short to medium term - I believe the neo fleet has always had substitution options.

Make no mistake, they're coming. One A320neo each in Jan, Feb and March after the first four A321neo's are here.

Sorry I was meaning for domestic operations.

I'm aware that there are A320neo arriving to replace the short haul A320ceo fleet, but one of those has now been deferred from 2020 until 2022 and may be swapped for an A321. There are 6 neo aircraft due to delivery in the 2019 financial year from now until June 2019.

Looking at the fleet presentation from yesterday which I missed watching live there won't be any A320neo aircraft operating on domestic routes before at least 2024 where the makeup will be 7 x A320neo and 13 x A320ceo which will be the OXA-OXM fleet. The planned A320neo aircraft have all been swapped for A321neo

I wonder how much notice an airline has to give Airbus should they wish to convert an A320NEO order in to an A321NEO.

Delayed delivery

The GTF engines are causing some grief I wonder if ANZ might delay delivery again

Caution - unconfirmed information :

I saw a post on Facebook this morning with anticipated dates of delivery for the first 5 A321 NEO : 1 each in September (by a whisker- the 30th), October, November, December, and March and the first A320 NEO in January...I don't know where the poster got their info from but the person who posted it is generally pretty reliable

Any indication on how long for the CAA to certify, so they can carry pax on them? Remember with the 789 took the CAA a month or two to be happy with it.

That is an all black livery. The All Black livery is the Crazy About Rugby Livery and that hasn't been on any plane for ages.
