It's on AKL-YVR late August before being dedicated to AKL-HNL Sep/Oct.

Two more 789's get parked up later this month as they'll reach max cycles.

I still find it really remarkable considering the chaos this issue is causing Air NZ that the CEO is nowhere to be seen.

Details of the schedule are up on the Air NZ website now.

Surprising they're admitting the business class offering is better than their own!

Nearly every recent business class hard product I have flown is better, except BA.

I've flown plenty of business class routes recently with much older products. I am about to fly one Bali to Doha on Qatar and later this year LAX to Brisbane (maybe Sydney?) all in that old 2-2-2 setup with Qantas (didn't realise they still flew planes with that type of business class... Quite disappointing and put me off them in the future). And I just flew one on Oman. Plenty of old business class cabins that are much worse than Air MZ are floating around. Though of course, much better ones are too...

Yeah, surprised to end up in one recently and was disappointed.
I did some research and found that you have to be pretty unlucky to end up in one. They have only 2 A330 left in the old config. Regn#

I just got lucky last night. Plane coming home on Qantas has been switched to one of their new planes! Still have one of the old planes for my Bali flight tomorrow though unfortunately.

Does anyone know what the situation with power outlets in economy is on the Eva 777?

The Air NZ page says power in all classes, and whoever answers the Air NZ facebook messages backed this up, but Seatguru and general ramblings online indicate power is only in Premium and above?

Can somebody clarify the situation with in seat power in Economy on Air NZ these days?

This page says no to economy on the 777 (but is so old it mentions the 747 still) https://airnz.custhelp.com/app/answe...ts-inflight%3F

This page says yes to economy but only on the 77W and 789 https://airnz.custhelp.com/app/answe...ts-inflight%3F

This page basically infers there is power on all 777s and 789s in economy https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/long-haul-economy

I definitely know the answer is yes to 773's and 789's, and I'm 90% sure it's a no in the 772's.

Correct - the 77E fleet doesn’t have instead power in Y, they also don’t have the LED mood lighting in Y (only in J/PE), we’re as the 77W and 789s do.

Pretty much you could now label the 77E’s the new “763s”

Depending on your device and maybe other factors the inseat USB power may not be adequate - I’ve had a. Inner of flights where the USB power was ineffective in recharging my Iphone

oh definitely, not relying on the in seat USB.
My partner will be wanting to use her phone and my tablet, which the power bank will charge handily, but I will be taking my Nintendo Switch which from experience on my last flight will drain a power bank pretty quickly, but its mains adapter is 110v compatible and draws less than the stated maximum output for the in-seat power socket.
