BYO airplugs are essential now. Those black ones are behind useless.

I've already given feedback to the FSM on one recent flight re: how rubbish they are; if a number of folks are recognising how bad they are, they need to get them swapped out. I would go as far as saying they have the potential to cause injury, because they are so hard....

I donated my pair to the FSM a few weeks ago after discussing it with him. He had a stash of the 3M ones and always used them during their rest but was going to try them on his next flight.

Earplugs

Do noise cancelling headsets work as well as earplugs ?

They're two quite different things. If I'm in PE I sleep with both - earplugs in and Bose on with no sound.

Precisely. For an excellent seal with the (soft foam) earplugs I wet them first.
