Travelling Long Haul PE or E

hey guys, so im currently about to book some flights to the USA during end of Nov. I had an ACL reconstruction knee surgery about 12 months ago and was wondering how much leg room is offer in Eco? Im leaning towards PE but was wondering if standard eco has good leg room as my knee tends to lock in after sitting in small space for llong periods.

cheers

If you can afford PE, it's dramatically better. Note that depending upon the day and destination you pick, you could have a 777-200 or 777-300, and the PE product is different between the two.

It's worth checking the seat maps (you can do this before paying) to see if any front row seats in economy are available as well. You'll have to pay extra, but if all you're after is lots of legroom then that may be a much cheaper alternative

+1 in fact for pure legroom, this is probably the best approach particularly if you are price sensitive, PE is a lot more. The only downside to the extra legroom Economy option is that I'm not sure there is an *absolute* guarantee that the seat will be allocated, or if it's done on a best endeavours. Bulkhead centres on the 777, although they do have more space, do not allow a nice long stretch out of the legs, like the seats at the side of the plane do (next to the doors).

The only way to know if it's -300 or -200 is to progress through a booking up until the point of seat select, and then it's across the top.

Personally, I love the spaceseat, but it's rather polarizing.

Where do you need to go? if its LAX or SFO have an look at American Airlines and Untied have often seen there J on sale for less PE on NZ.

If you not rushed for time you can get some pretty good J deals via the Pacific Islands and it also means you splitting the trip so you can get off the plane.

FJ AKL-NAN-LAX/SFO
HA AKL-HNL-East Coast

Exit rows are great if they haven't been booked already.

PE wins over any exit row or sky couch option. the catering and attention over a smaller crowd comes with the extra cost

Mate go premium economy and pay for the aisle seat in the front of the cabin. You can use a couple of the bean bags they give you on top of your carry on and you'll be able to stretch your legs out fully flat. It's as close to lie flat as you'll get without being in business or lying across 4 seats in Y.
Premium vs economy is not even a discussion. Premium all the way.

NZ premium is one of the best in the market. if you want the extra leg room try and get the 772 rather than the 773 (spaceseat). The spaceseat is a 'nicer' and more luxurious seat, yet for leg room and for accommodating the taller folk the 772/787 config offers better leg room and better recline.
