Domestic Economy Classes

I'm flying regional airport to Auckland return this weekend, booked using free ticket from Amex. Booking information is showing Economy class "T". What the hell does this letter mean?! I cannot find a table anywhere which explains them all.

It's on a Q300. Flew one yesterday which was booked through work and I couldn't access it or add it to my Air NZ account at all.. No idea what class or what the fare conditions were, but was put into seat 2A. Looking at the seat map for my upcoming flight it looks like these are reserved for higher priced fares/Gold/Elites? All four row 1 seats were empty and I got the impression the guy next to me had status due to hostess's interactions. I'm just a Jade.

Due to aircraft balance row 1 is normally always blocked out on a Q300. You can often select it at T-48 as it becomes unblocked for a very brief period of time before beinh blocked out again. Row 1 will be used at the airport if needed.

Thanks for the info sbiddle, slight off topic does the same apply to the regular domestic A320 Row 3A-C seats?

AFAIK 3A-C always open up T-48 and stays open till the flight occurs.

At least it's been the case for me every time.

Interesting, I was told by Amex that the free ticket would need S or G availability. Air NZ domestic fare classes from full fare to cheapo discount are, in order: Y B M H Q V W T L S G X K P.

I paid a bit extra as the times and dates they offered didn't work for me.

Is there actually a full explanation of what each one means though, or is it a confidential propriety coding?

Have an look the link below, basically every letter is an different price.

http://www.airnzagent.co.nz/assets/a...de_24Jun14.pdf

For example
P $49
K $59
X $69
etc, and prices vary by route

This is the Domestic Pricing Grid. http://www.airnzagent.co.nz/assets/a...avelDirect.pdf

For example an AKL-WLG PBAG is $59 (Seat+Bag) or AKL-WLG KBAG $69 (Seat+Bag)
