*G extra bag on NZ
Hey all,
We are traveling AKL > HNL tomorrow on NZ10, and one of us is *G (not with NZ).
The following is quoted on our ticket:
It's not mentioned on the NZ website itself.
Cheers

The following is quoted on our ticket:
Star Alliance Gold members are entitled to one additional standard piece of checked baggage without charge on all Star Alliance flights, where the ticketed itinerary has two or more Star Alliance airlines.
Is the two airline rule enforced? It's not mentioned on the NZ website itself.
Cheers

It's very bad wording I suspect. The original intention of this sentence I believe was when your itinerary contains 2 or more Star airlines, you will be booked in Works which will include 1 check in baggage and you will be entitled to an extra bag as *G.
This provision is to prevent Star Gold baggage benefit from Seat Only fares. So yes you will be entitled to an extra bag as long as you book Seat+Bag and above. No need to have a second carrier.
