The premium economy seats appear to be quite different from the ones in the 777's
Has anyone tried them ?

I love this stuff. Sometimes I think I should go into the aviation industry. Now I see why my boy loves airplanes!

They look like the QF PE seats. Flying in J on the A388, I went to the back of the UD to see how their PE seats were for future reference. I sat in one and played with the seat for a few minutes during my flight from LAX-MEL. QF was a fabric covering. The NZ seat looks like leather with better padding. QF was more of a slimline construction. However, I'm sure they are both much more comfortable than those seats the great unwashed in Y put up with for 12+ hours.

They're identical to Cathay's premium economy product. There are already a couple of threads on this.

Have there been any invites from NZ for VIP flyers to take a tour?

That would explain why it's nowhere to be seen, then! Pity, I was looking forward to a sighting.

Dreamliner at Auckland airport

Anyone seen it yet ?

djsflynn Jan 4, 2014 3:02 am

Yeah, it was a close thing, we (media) were standing at the edge of the field, cameras at the ready, waiting for the 787 to get within coo-ee as the sun was going down, down, down... finally landed just shy of dusk, and by the time it reached the gate and we pulled up there for snaps it was almost a night-time shoot but for the last hints of blue shot through the sky!

This has more info and additional photos.

The 787 will be there until about 11am Monday, so I'll have a chance to see it when I fly to WLG in the morning.
