Does economy star alliance RTW book into "The works" Trans-Tasman?

I can't find this in the forum, maybe my search skills are failing.

We're flying an economy *A RTW with our last sector AKL-SYD.
Does that give as a "the works" version of the flight?

Yes, anything to do with *A or involving another airline is booked in Works.

Does that also apply to "pacific" flights (i.e. Aus/NZ to Fiji or Cook Islands), or only trans-tasman? Thanks!

Pretty much applies to any Intentional Flight with the Seats2Suits Product, which is every intentional flight under 10 hours that NZ operates.
