WLG-AKL-HKG on NZ/CX on 9-Nov. If impacted by fog...
I'll be flying WLG-AKL on NZ and then AKL-HKG on CX on 9-Nov (tmr). Both flights are booked under the same PNR, ticketed by CX.
My question is, if WLG airport is still affected by fog tmr (very likely) and my flight ex-WLG is cancelled, should I approach NZ for rebooking? Or call CX?
Generally speaking, what options will be provided?
Thanks.

The most likely case is being offered to rebook on the next available flight AKL-HKG and the most suitable available WLG-AKL flight to connect. This may well be next day or later.
If you have status and/or in a premium cabin, NZ might look at rerouting options (eg WLG-SYD-HKG) if the next available flight would be too long a delay and the reroute is available much sooner.
