Hi, I'm a Gold Elite Partner (bronze on my own), who has put in for RU along with my partner and son (husband has gifted RU to our son) - I just wondered if we are likely to get cleared together, or if it's more likely they will both get cleared a week out, and I, being the 'lower tier' will need to wait until the day, or may even be left behind while they sit up front! Thanks for any advice

Are you on one PNR or multiple?

So the person with Elite is your husband? So 1 RU for them and 1 for the Son?
As an Elite Partner where is your RU coming from? I assume by bronze you mean Jade?

Sorry, to clarify, I'm currently Silver (using RU from that), but will drop to Jade/Bronze before travel - upgrade currently pending. We're all on the same PNR. My husband is using his RU for himself and gifting for our son.

Upgrades for a single PNR all occur at the same time. Obviously if they're lodged by an Elite these all could have cleared at the time of booking had there been availability.

Hmmm we’ll theres still 8 seats left so I have hope. They said at the time we put the requests in that they couldn’t confirm on the spot because of the class we purchased - it was a sale fare - but they would reassess one week out. Hopefully my husband being Elite will work in all our favour then

Where during the process does it show you the added status uplift for one ups? I'm aware of what it is but didn't see it during the bid process.

NZ191 AKL-ADL
11 JUL 208
Y -> PE
Offered $275 APD (Jade Status, so no uplift)
Accepted 5 days before departure

Used the strategy of bidding the duration in minutes (so a flight 275 mins long becomes a $275 APD bid). Min was $200 so $75 was a comfortable addition I was happy to make considering the length of the flight. My first PE experience and also my first OneUp upgrade so pretty pleased with this.

Update:
received an email from air nz today advising my bid will be reviewed 60mins prior to departure. More waiting... anyone know if this a good or bad sign?

Awesome! I received another email today from airnz. Saying my upgrade can’t be confirmed right now but will be reviewed between 7 to 9 hours before the flight and even up till 60 mins before departure. If space becomes available I’ll be upgraded. Fingers crossed!
