Anyone made bookings to fly on the 77W?

Am curious to know if anyone has made booking yet to fly the 777W, which is being delivered mid December?

I will book a Christmas trip to LA on NZ5/6 when the days the 777W is flying.

I cannot see any appearing on any TT schedules yet or will that be just ‘ad hoc’ for training purposes

I'm booked in Premium Economy on NZ5 in January - and considering not even upgrading, as I want to try out the seat.

That's why I'm waiting for 77W to show up on trans-Tasman schedules, so I can try premium economy shorthaul and still be in business class (hopefully) for longhaul.

The first aircraft is arriving at the end of November 2010 and its first commercial flight is planned to MEL on 6 Dec. In the first week it is planned to operate for 5 days (not sure which) to MEL before its first flight NZ6 to LAX on Dec 12. After this it will operate NZ6/NZ5 and approximately 1 Tasman flight a week (BNE or MEL).

Just booked PE for the 77W for December to LA:

AKL LAX 22/12 NZ5
LAX AKL 31/12 NZ6.

I won't bother upgrading as i am dying to test the new product.

I was under the impression a new Livery might be unvealed with the 77W but it seems its just a rumor

The launch flight will be NZ 6 on the 12th of Dec.

Regarding AKL MEL flights on the 777 300, we don’t know the exact dates yet until we get confirmation from Boeing which will be a month out from the delivery flight (when we get the aircraft in our hands).

We are looking at late Nov – early December – but we don’t have any indication till the aircraft starts on the manufacturing line, and gets towards the end of it’s build.

Apologies I can’t give you anything firm, but the launch flight on the 12th is a given.

Hmmm - Can't wait for the MEL-AKL-MEL on the 777W

^

Big difference getting the beast (777W) over the A320's!
