an AKL-based cabinet minisiter reading some briefing papers - I was very interested in the notations on the papers he was adding - eg 'rubbish', 'NO!' etc

I have heard the UK based NZ FAs say they love having the Beckhams on board.

I should also mention that, having had Mr. Kleinpaste (as mentioned in a previous post) on board, he is a particularly nice guy. Also, Ray Columbus is another one that springs to mind as super-nice.

In the LAX lounge right now (but I suspect waiting for VS as NZ has just left), Jane Leeves who played Daphne Moon on Frasier. Also, I think I spotted Michael Cullen in earlier who left when NZ2 was called.

Richie McCaw was on my flight yesterday, nz507. Was first to board, and just wanted to be left alone, however he ended up having an endless supply of kids wanting to meet him

His Royal Highness George Tupou V, King of Tonga was today on NZ27 TBU-AKL: click for picture 1 / picture 2

He was the last to board and first to deboard, sitting in 1A. Not much fuzz made about it by the NZ crew.

He was already with us yesterday on Chathams Pacific CV714 VAV-TBU (an ancient Convair 580 ), also seated in 1A. On that flight, he got much more attention, nobody was allowed to use the lavatory, because they would have needed to walk by him and we were asked to remain seated until he had left the plane after landing. Interesting experience.

Also had Michael Hill, jeweller, and his wife in 7K and 6K on the AKL-YVR flight last year (August).

LAX-LHR NZ2 Sun 17th Oct 2010.
Nadine Coyle sat in 1A. She was lovely. A little more attention given to her than the rest of us but not so bad.
Shamefully I didn't recognise her, just gathered she was a 'celeb' when I saw her escorted into the lounge and then into 1A right at the last minute, it was my missus who had to tell me who she was as we were walking to immigration at LHR. Nadine was my favourite out of the band a few years ago too

Sat opposite Oliver Driver on NZ8401 AKL - NPE today. Apparently he is such a major celeb the rules about baggage in overhead locker when seated in exit row and turning off electronic devices for take off and landing don't apply to him?

Must be nice to be that important

OT. I have noticed on my last few flights on a Q300 that the electronic device instruction is widely ignored and not policed - using devices on the plane when should be off and walking to and from the plane

Me too. It's particularly funny when the plane lands and the cabin crew immediately say please don't switch on your cellular devices until well inside the terminal, and straight away you hear the welcome tones on several phones. I wonder if anything serious has ever happened by doing this?

The other day on AKL-WLG, I was across the aisle from one of our hard-working MPs (he must be hard-working - his Blackberry stayed on and being used from the AKL lounge to his car in WLG).
