booking award travel with FB - only cheapie flights are on Continental...

I have an award flight booked for hubby and myself to go from Denver to AMS at the end of September. The only availability on the cheapie miles was to travel on Continental through Houston...which irks me only becuase i hate to fly south to only fly north again after.

I keep checking to see if NW will open up some availability through Detroit or MSP and no luck yet. Do they ever open up more award seats as the time comes closer?

That said, the CO product is better. If you can get it for the cheaper price, I'd say it's a bargain.

NW A330 is quite nice, but otherwise CO is pretty good with seats and also service (in Y). I also like CO in C, the food tends to be better.

Why does that matter? Isn't the time schedule (departure, layover, arrival) more important than the heading that the plane takes?

mike, it only matters because the flight takes longer due to flying south and then flying north and less over the arctic circle.
