level miles on MH flights with KL codes

FB agent (France helpdesk, the main FB number) confirmed that KL4103, if bought from KL, would earn level and award miles although operated by MH. this is in line with what you get if you search for KLM rules on flying blue (http://klm.com/travel/nl_en/flying_b...ners/index.htm)

"Flying Blue members can earn Miles on all KLM-coded flights as well as on KL operated flights with a Flying Blue partner prefix."

contrast this with the information tlr cites from the FB Luxembourg helpdesk agent on http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=518788

meanwhile, KLM's booking engine told me that on a full fare ticket on KL4103 i was eligible for upgrade with miles. FB france agent said this is not true, so this info is wrong on the website.

as i probably want to upgrade, i will buy the KL-metal flight so won't have the opportunity to see how the MH flights are handled by FB.

best,
rishab

Please search this forum. I believe that this was discussed recently.

i did! i even referred to one of the other forum threads in my post! but i didn't see anyone posting final "proof" yet - in the form of actually flying KL 4103 and getting level miles credited.

so i posted additional information - the opinion of an FB France helpdesk agent and the KLM website.

The reply from Frederic Babu is that you earn award miles, not level miles.

"No level miles, just award miles" is the answer I got from FB France yesterday about the KL/MH codeshares -- and about the AF/QF codeshares. They then went on that only Skyteam operated flights would give level miles, wich we all know is plainly wrong.

"All codeshares allowed" is the rule that FB Canada read to me yesterday when I asked them the same question; when I asked if this applied to level miles, not just award miles, I got a "yes, that's what I read to you."

I remember reading that you have to call the helpdesk, so they can put this in manually?

Could anyone please correct me if I am wrong?
