Award booking issues on FB website

Awards not free anymore
I've been toying with the idea of doing some travel using my miles, either to Dubai or Toronto... in Business or First !
klm.com feels that not only do i need to pay a few (thousasnd) miles, plus taxes, but I also have to pay a surcharge...

The amount of tax and fuel surcharges for a long haul roundtrip in J is typically 200 euros. So you seem to be the victim of a bug in the klm.com reservation system, which is known for its many mistakes. The best is that you call Flying Blue to make your reservation.

Then call Flying Blue either in Germany or in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Great Britain (+44 0870 24 29 242), Ireland, Italy, San Marino, Luxembourg, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland.
Tell them you want to avoid Ivry sur Seine at all cost.

Is it possible to have taxes quoted in GBP for flights from the UK? When you book an award over the phone will they quote taxes in GBP? I'd be interested to see if the taxes on an award flight are exactly the same as those on a paid flight.

Just for people's interest, I have been looking at booking a one way WBC award ticket from YVR to LHR via AMS on KLM, and the taxes come to the princely sum of €33.81
Very reasonable condsidering some of the massively high taxes from Europe to elsewhere.

And guess where you'll end-up when calling from one of these countries.... Ivry sur Seine !!!!! F+'s european members (ie. outside of France) used to be very professionally served by a team located in London, then came FB and calls are now shared between the Ivry and Amsterdam teams.

Award booking stupidity!
Give me a brake! I`ve tried to book a ticket to SEA from SVG (Stavanger, Norway) And guess what? there are NO available seats from 1 of november 2006 to 31 og december 2006.. on some occasions i got an offer for the open miles option.. no way im gonna pay that much!!
I miss FD.. never had this much trouble booking an award ticket when FD was around..
I know that there is a ton of available seats with AF, KLM, CO, DL and NW to USA.. but howcome im never able to book a seat with CO or DL from KLM`s award booking scheme.. i just dont understand..
Is there any other way to book a ticket with CO or DL using my FB programme? any advice greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried calling FB or are you just using the online system?
I think you will get better results by phoning and the agents will be able to see the CO and DL availibility.
