If I earn Gold this year, will I have to reearn Silver before I get Gold (100 + 180 XP) next year or can I earn only 180XP to keep my status?

If you are gold when you start your qualification period (and you should be since status will be maintained until Dec 31st, 2021), you'll only need 180 XP in 2022 to keep the gold status.

You need to earn 180XP within the following 12 full months after earning Silver. Any excess XP left after initial -100XP deduction also counts.

I have the chance to earn 280 xp between now and end of 2021. this should take me to gold for 2022, if I understand correctly (100+180) and I should begin 2022 as gold.
If I want to reach platinum in 2022, should I just earn 300xp or being the first year I must earn 180+300?
are my two assumptions above correct?
thanks!

hi, quick clarification please as I am not sure I understand correctly how the process works.

Then, if you earn the next 180 XP in december, your qualification period for Gold will be Dec 21->Dec 22.
Should you start 2022 with gold status, you'll then need to earn 300 XP between Jan 1st, 2022 and Dec 31st, 2022 to get your platinum status.

If you are explorer now and earn your first 100 XP during, let's say, November, your qualification period will be Nov 21->Nov 22.
Then, if you earn the next 180 XP in december, your qualification period for Gold will be Dec 21->Dec 22.
Should you start 2022 with gold status, you'll then need to earn 300 XP between Jan 1st, 2022 and Dec 31st, 2022 to get your platinum status.

Quite an interesting podcast about Flying Blue and loyalty here, with a few interesting nuggets. But I had to give up just after the halfway mark due to that frightful female who was interviewing him. She grated from the moment she started speaking, actually, and she wouldn't keep her mouth shut while he was speaking.

Just checking if I have a flight cancelled (by afkl) way in advance that is connecting through CDG and I have it changed to a non-stop, I can get the originally booked XP for it by calling FB afterwards right? Especially important in times of double XP.
