Award booking class on KE

Can some FTalkers confirm for KE : U for Economy, D for Biz, A for First ?

Also did anyone manage to get an award ticket on KE ? I am interested in
ICN/AKL and ICN/BNE.

But what are the corresponding fare codes on KLM and KQ?

And maybe an expert could post a table for all FB partners...

minmum miles in N?

Hey folks,

I have just searched the hole thread but couldn't find consistent answer. If I travel on an european flight e.g. FRA-CDG will FB give me 750 minmum miles in N or just 25 % of it? Or, even worse, 25% of the actually flown miles? And what about a flight in C? Will the credit me 150% of 750?

Second question: does flights in all booking classes e.g. N count as flight segments towards elite status? Have you heard anything about disposing it next year as LH MM will do 04/01/2006?

Thanks in advance

Min. miles in N

In response to Totti's post, FRA-CDG on AF in N class earns 187 award and level miles (25% of 750). The flight itself does count toward your total of qualifying flights. This is the minimum to be earned for all European flights in N in my experience.

Even better then LH E,L,T class but 750 would be better.

But what about segment counting... does anybody know if there are new rules in the pipe? Quite important to me cause I'll be FB plat next if flight's will count. If not it could be difficault because of some N fare flights within europe where I will not gain that much miles...

You migh find yourself very lucky trying with KE. Based on my experience in the past year trying to get international award seats out of AF, DL, NW and KE, KE has given me 90+% success rate (not including those dates that fall on their blackout date) while AF is about 60-70%, DL ~ 40-50% and NW ~ less than 5% !!!

You are correct on U, D, and A on KE. As far as I know now, KE has blackout date for SkyTeam Award seats (except its own program) from May 19-June something (if not mistaken it is the 19th)....and then July 20-Aug 20 (US to ICN segment is OK).

I always got level flights credited, even for those 25% of 500 miles segments on KL (coded on NW). If you get your status via level flights you are fine. I doubt there will be new rules.

i haven't experienced it myself but french domestic flights within France booked in N doesn't award any mile on FB (this is sure) and wouldn't count as qualifying segments (99% sure). Moreover, french domestic flights in any class (99% sure) don't count as qualifying segments for FB members with mailing address in France.

Hi,

I am a Flying blue ivory member. Recently i've made this flights and was credit this miles:

KL2852 OPO-AMS(operated by NI)(class S acording to boarding pass) Miles: 0
KL1355 AMS-PRG (class M acording to boarding pass) Miles:187
KL1352 PRG-AMS (class M acording to boarding pass) Miles:187
KL1237 AMS-CDG (class M acording to boarding pass) Miles:187
KL2146 CDG-OPO(operated by AF)(Y class acording boarding pass) Miles:768

I read on this forum that the minimum miles earned on european flights is 750 miles so i think i should have earned instead of the 187 miles per flight 750miles. What do you think?I know that there are exceptions, but i wasn't able to find them. I've send a mail to Flying Blue to ask about the exceptions but i get no answer. can u help me?
Thank u very much

best regards,

Joao Fontes

Dear Joao,

you just joined the club of angry FF who only earn 25% of miles af the actual mileage flown on certain fares...
Please navigate in this board and you'll find all fare to avoid at all cost (I'm not familiar with the KL fare as I dont fly this airline anymore).

Best regards
