Thanks -- I had reviewed it and quite a few other threads.

I was hoping someone who has some experience using the KVS tool for AF searches could add their two cents.

It appears that AF has recently decided to hide certain booking classes... They now only seem to show the X class if the trans-atlantic segment is combined with an intra-european one. For example, to see X-class availability for CDG-LAX, you need to request availability for AMS-LAX:

[KVS Availability Tool - Apollo: ITN/CWT/US-NY]
Code:
AMS Amsterdam-Schiphol NL [EHAM]
LAX Los Angeles Int'l CA US [KLAX]
THU 01 Sep 2005

Carrier Flight From Depart To Arrive A/C St Availability

AF 1341 AMS 10:30 CDG 11:45 320 0 C9 D9 Z9 O0 Y9 S9 B9 K9 H9 T0 V0 Q0 L0 X0 U0 G0

I have actually already tried that (because a previous thread mentioned it for the LITE version) and still had no success. Thanks.

What exactly do you mean by "still had no success" -- I just tried it and can see X-class availability on the AF segment you originally enquired about (CDG-LAX) ...

Then I guess I am also confused. I just plugged in AMS-LAX on the same date as your above example. This is the result --

The only 'X' class I see is between AMS-CDG, not between CDG-LAX. So if I am doing it wrong -- please let me know how to do it differently. Thank you.

New fare buckets

According to a KL e-mail will introduce new fare buckets on intercontinental flights (except Paramaribo) from October 30:

"Met ingang van de winterdienstregeling 2005/2006 introduceert KLM een aantal extra boekingsklassen op intercontinentale routes (met uitzondering van Paramaribo). De nieuwe klassen staan per 1 september 2005 in uw CRS en kunnen geboekt worden voor reizen vanaf 30 oktober 2005.

De boekingsklassen die worden toegevoegd zijn de T, L, K en I-klasse.

De klassenhiėrarchie komt er als volgt uit te zien (van hoog naar laag):

Business cabin: J, C, I en Z
Economy cabin: S, B, M, K, H, L, Q, T en V.

Begin oktober 2005 ontvangt u nader bericht aangaande deze aanpassing."

No specifics given. I wonder when and how we will find out whether these new fare buckets earn full FB miles!

[@:-)] If you appear to be "missing" certain AF/KL booking classes (revenue or award/upgrade), be sure to take a look at the explanatory note in post #2 above.

I just booked my RTW ticket (award ticket) using my Delta Skymiles but flying on AF flights departing on June 1, 2006...something wierd comes up.

Bangkok-Paris is booked in X class (instead of O class but it says BUSINESS CLASS)
Paris-Rome - again X class instead of O but says BUSINESS CLASS
Rome-Paris - same as above

AND the kick is....

Paris-New York JFK is booked in O Class.

Does anyone have any ideas? The booking was initially done in O class for all AF segments (but waitlisted)...today every flight is confirmed but appear in X class !!!! and it says BUSINESS, not Economy !!!

I AM CONFUSED !!!

no matter if it says business class.

if you are booked in X, you will be sitting in the back.

You'd better contact your DL-skymiles servicecenter asap.

and afterwards make SEAT SELECTIONS, so then you are sure you are in Business indeed.

Correct, X is indeed Economy. Delta website has a bug on this.

By the way, it got fixed to O Class....

I believe that that note (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...05&postcount=2) only applies to KL flights.

on AF , I had a fly between CDG and PUJ coded A, ( not award ) It is an intermediate class called Alize, only on Carribean flights, below business
but that gives business miles ( 150% )
