KL0662 4 January Cancelled - compensation denied
I was booked on KL662 from Houston IAH to Amsterdam Schipol AMS on 4 January 2023. I was informed on January 3rd that the flight was cancelled and rebooked via Atlanta on 5 Jan. When I submitted a claim for cancellation compensation via EU261 I was told I was ineligible as the delay was due to disruption caused bypass Air Traffic control problems and so was extraordinary circumstances outwith KLM control.
Looking at the Schipol departure and arrival boards on 3rd and 4th of January no other flights seem to be cancelled. Does anyone know why the flight was cancelled and what next steps to take to claim compensation?
