Yeah but the conditions are so restrictive its only apply to some FB users

There was a better opportunity few months ago for a status match with AT , you could get matched from any *A or ST ffp to get emerald or sapphire . Then , i guess due to high number or requests , they matched any status only to ruby level

Saw also some other opportunities to jump from skyteam to star alliance by status match within the last year due to covid

Let me know when you see more of those please.
I have high status on Oneworld & Skyteam, but nothing on Star Alliance.

For star alliance , as far as i know , you currently have two options (others are available but restricted)
.
  1. TK = but its under their own discretion = more recent information there
  2. TP = no idea if still running , check this thread
If you have any questions feel free to ask , maybe i can help

I can share the conditions that TK applied to me in May:Dear M maalloc,

Were pleased to inform you that as of May,4th of 2022, the status of your membership TKXXXXXXX
has been raised to Elite. Were excited to be able to offer you more benefits and advantages with Miles&Smiles.

There are a few details about your upgrade to Elite that wed like to tell you about:
  • The first 4 months of your Elite membership is considered as the trial period. Within this period, you are required to realize at least one Turkish Airlines international flight in which you gain miles.
  • At the end of the trial period, if your membership account includes at least one Turkish Airlines international flight in which you gained miles, your Elite membership is prolonged for 8 months more.(i.e. it remains valid for 1 year in total after the match).
  • If you reach 15,000 Status Miles in the international flights you will perform with Turkish Airlines in the first year of your Elite membership, your membership is extended for 1 more year(i.e. it remains valid for 2 years in total after the match).
With your Elite membership, youll be able to take advantage of a host of benefits to make your trip even more special. These benefits include:
  • Entry to our private passenger lounges
  • An additional baggage allowance of 20 kg on all our flights
  • Priority check-in and priority boarding
  • Passport control Fast Track
  • More Status Miles on your Business Class flights

Not hard , as TK literally flies everywhere on this planet ....

TP required club membership purchase (99€ minimum) and then 4 TAP flights + 25k miles on any star alliance flights

In comparison the 15K miles TK requires are not super hard to get

Yes, please. Im AF plat, and SK and TK gold, looking for a status match with any Oneworld programme (I missed the AT offer). So far refused by QR and RJ. To be fair, this would have been 2nd time RJ would have matched me 😆

How long it took ?
It was quite fast, Id say one week.

I first called the hotline where the agent told me TK doesnt do status match with ST.
So I applied through the (super buggy) website, and they got the ball rolling within 2 days. Then it was just a matter of sending them the requested documents.

Now for the fun part: plans changed and I ended up not flying with them so I cant comment on the actual service.

TK service is typically Asian style in that it's great, as long as something out of ordinary doesn't happen. Their IRROPS handling leaves a lot to be desired.

Well...If you need a Oneworld matching, just read the title of this thread!
You will get Finnair matched with your Air France plat.

One day to go though.....

Just received a tweet from a friend flying today CDG IST with TK. He was granted access at "Paul Maxence" lounge (ex EY) at terminal 2A!

my post was related to post Covid (pre-covid, TK was in T1 and was using the *A lounge. Currently, TK is in 2A. There is an AC lounge but I don't know if it is open). But apparently it changed very recently (see below).

Good. This is brand new. 2 weeks ago, TK was not listed as an eligible airline at the entrance of Paul Maxence lounge.
