Who is offering better inflight service right now from the US to Europe in business class?

Probably AF ... but to transit via France, you need to have a negative PCR test for COVID from 72 hrs before takeoff. I'd worry about covid-19 regulations first and then about in-flight service since that's still a bit of a mess.

Thanks... im not worried about the covid test results. I can get them in a few hours. That said, the AF forum indicates that the testing in CDG is landside after customs and not applicable for transit pax such as myself.

At present, since August 1st, everyone flying to or through France from US (and some other countries) must have a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of departure of you will be denied boarding. This includes transit pax too and has nothing to do with the testing at CDG landside.

The AF forum has many posts suggesting otherwise based on experience of those posting.

Sjondorn is right. But, you know...things change almost everyday Coming from the US, whatever your final destination is CDG or elsewhere (connecting), you need a PCR test done max 72hrs before. This is needed to board your flight in the US. Arriving from the US, you won’t need to have the test repeated in CDG, while this is not true when coming from some other countries (test needs to be repeated in CDG)

Also, whatever adds the fewest legs or layover time. Minimize exposure first. All services and experiences traveling suck now, and CDG is a bigger airport with more transiting including the possibility of those delightful buses.

KLM or AF, but watch out for KLM 747 and 777 flights - J is rubbish compared with their 787-9/10's. Personally, I fly KLM SFO to LHR, have tried both. Nicer crew on the KLM, food better on AF. Lounge .... at SFO for both. KLM J outbound for the better bed, Virgin inbound for the speed and bar - daytime flight. I assume the 747's have gone away, but don't know for a fact. I saw one at SFO a bit ago- could have been freight?

Good luck getting on one, unless you are packed in a crate and shipped as cargo.

I have done both routes numerous times in J...so, had a good idea of service “pre-Covid”. My main reason for choosing J was to remain isolated in-flight.

KLM 777
 

Is KLM still using the 777? If so, for which routes, as most long haul routes I see are operated by 787. As others have mentioned, the 787 is far superior in J as it's a 1-2-1 configuration vs. the 2-2-2 on a 777.

Ex India, KLM seems to be operating a mix of 787-9/10 & 777s, with the latter being more frequent. Now, all these are repatriation flights...https://www.klm.com/travel/in_en/cam...strictions.htm

Isn't that what flying is about today? My neighbor said it was a 9 hour trip to hell inside a porta potty.
