FlyingBlue AMEX bonus XP: How long did it take to get yours?

Hey guys,

Recently signed up for the KLM AMEX just to get the extra 15xp I need for gold.

It's been a week since I received the card. Anyone know how long it takes before they're added on?

Cheers

Between two weeks after receiving the card and your first monthly statement.

Likely with your first monthly payment. So that would probably be a month after receiving the card?

Just out of curiosity...why did you go for the silver amex? You are aware that the Gold one is free the first year, would get you 30XP, and still can be canceled or downgraded to silver whenever you want?

When I look at the website it says ~80eur for first year with gold (50% of usual fee). Probably a good deal if you really need XP but I just wanted the free 15 and then I'm done.

Just ask someone for a referral link next time. You will get an Flying Bliue American Express Gold, including 20.000 flying blue points, 30 XP and the first year the credit card for free.

XP reward is linked to paying the yearly fee. When that's done, it's usually a few days

As others said, it usually takes a week but there is no guarantee for that and it can get delayed up to three weeks.

FYI, my mom signed up to the Platinum AMEX on around 23/06 as she was missing a few XP to get FB Gold (with XP renewal date 30/06) she otherwise wouldn't have had by flying. So that left about a week for the XPs to get posted in order for the new status to be reflected. The XPs posted on 29/6. If you are in a rush for your FB status renewal, I think both FB and AMEX would apply retroactive credit in the worst case.
