Where to start ? beginners tips & solutions?

Hello everyone,

I am a new travel enthusiast and I wanted to have your insights on where to start to take the maximum advantage of my travel experiences. I also would like to do that professionally.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me know where to start. I am a flying blue "baby" silver user and I am planning to travel a lot from next year.

I am located in France and plan to move to the Middle East next year.

Thank you for your help!

Hello and welcome @RosaBianca !

I'm also living in France and moving to the Middle East (DOH) but a little bit sooner than you.

First of all, I would recommend you to get an AF-Amex Card to maximize your spendings/rewards.
Then, if you can travel thanks to your business, make sure to pay yourself and get reimbursed.

Then, maybe take some look at mileage/statuts-run section.

Apart from that, there is no magic potion, just be patient and keep track of your numbers :p

Thank you for this quick answer.

I will take your advice into account! I also have my eyes on the Amex but I do not have enough funds to ask for it yet.

Any good software or apps to track my numbers?

https://my.flightradar24.com/ is a good way to track flights, as well as total flight time etc.

I was based in the Middle East until last year, and that helped me reach Platinum flying from DXB (do not know where in the middle-east you will be). The spot is quite nice since from DXB, with a stop in BEY, JED or RUH (and sometimes SVO) you can find dirt cheap flights to CDG, AMS, LHR etc on SV, SU or ME (and some flights are actually operated by AF or KLM), making it quite easy for Skyteam qualification with XP (though it won’t yield a lot of miles, but combined with Amex maybe worth it for miles as well)
