When will Virgin Atlantic become a FB partner?

Is there any published date for when Virgin Atlantic will become a FB partner?

Once the EU and US have approved the new Joint Venture that includes VS, DL, AF and KL which is not likely until next year. Even then it may not be a partner on day 1.

This is indeed an interesting application on 20 July.
This site gives some analysis as well as application documents:

AZ seems kicked out as the new JV will replace the existing ones.

Apparently, there is no plan to merge the FFPs,but the codesharing will help a lot. Don't know if VS will become a ST member but it seems logical.

However, to get approval and implementation will take a long time.

Yes, it is explicitly stated in the documents submitted to the DoT that AZ would not be party to the new JVA, which would replace the two existing ones (the DL/VS one and the DL/AF/KLAZ one). The document states that re-integration of AZ in the future is contemplated but that AZ is still in a bankruptcy process and will need to sort itself out first (not the language of the documents, but basically the idea behind it).

Again, ST membership is stated as being in the long-term horizon but not immediately expected. There would be mutual earning within the framework of the current FFPs, though (not sure whether this would be limited to JV flights or would be network-wide).

I'm very curious to see if this will affect VS's partnerships, many of which are with *A carriers.

The sale of the VS stake to AFKL is expected to complete in the first half of 2019, so reciprocal frequent flyer benefits should kick in shortly thereafter...

Seems like Virgin Atlantic pilots are getting some practice in now, to fit in better with other SkyTeam members next year!

That they're not considering joining Skyteam at present.

Online at least, you can now enter Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer numbers on AirFrance.com and KLM.com. Unsure about on the apps.

I doubt benefits and accrual will occur though.
