Does FB miles have a different value for KL vs AF ? . See below
This was a trip EDI-AMS-CDG, all on one ticket (AMS is a connection, not a stopover), both flights are KL-coded. 1st flight is KL-operated, 2nd is AF-operated. Paid upgrades were proposed for both flights at check-in:
EDI-AMS: €149 or 17,300 miles
AMS-CDG: €99 or 24,800 miles

I have the impression that their entire algorithm is a bug. Some of the miles/EUR relations do not make any sense.

The 89 EUR/22,300 miles is consistent with my 99 EUR/24,000 miles (1 mile = 0.4c). If there was a bug in my EDI-AMS-CDG story, it was likely with the KL flight.

Not quite the right place for it, but:
MAN-BLR rtn Y-J £779. The client would only spring for Y, but the flights are around the Easter weekend, so Y tickets were rather expensive. I changed the tickets at my own expense to J on all 4 legs. Not bad value with an extra 60XP and 6000 miles...
When prices are like ths, I don't wait for possible upgrades on one leg. The only problem is that the return flight is on a 332, so 2-2-2 seating in J.

It sure is annoying but with 4 F seats when the cabin is empty cheap upgrade would make the product looks also cheap. I am frustrated too, still waiting for some good fare (no, I am not giving 200k miles for OW to the US) but I understand AF in this.

I have other plans for my miles. I wasn't considering an upgrade as it happens. What I think is wrong that the upgrade offer is the same for both O and C especially when the C price was about £1K less than F when booked. A couple of years ago the same upgrades were being offered at 1500 euros. My last flight went from full availability in F to full in a day so I expect this will still be popular.
