Delta Waitlisted

Hi

I purchased a T Economy ticket to fly from AMS to SEA in Feb 17. Being KLM Platinum member, I wanted to upgrade to Business using my miles but unfortunately there were no award seats available.
The flight is bought as a KLM code share flight.

I DM'ed Delta on Twitter and the agent told me above story but said he wanted to place me on the waiting list. So now when i look at my trips on delta.com, i see 2 bookings on the same flight and the same ticket number. The first is the regular economy T fare with my seat number that can be altered and the second is a new booking with business Z fare but it says waitlisted and seat selection is not available.

What does this mean? Am I now ahead in the queue to get upgraded? Or?

Welcome to FT
I have to say that it doesn't make any sense to me.

Z class is for paid business class. Are you sure the agent understood that you wanted to upgrade with Miles?

Yes I know. But now the second business Z class booking disappeared again.
Strange.

Strange.
Likely scenario is that the agent misunderstood you and put you on the WL for paid fare.

Control in AMS saw this WL and decided that given the load, they would cancel this WL which had been set up by a non KLM rep.

very likely scenario indeed, and the Z booking automatically cancelled because should have been already ticketed as per the fare rule.

Ok.
On the Flying Blue award site, no business tickets are available but on Delta sky miles award site there is.
Could it be that some award seats are only available for Skimiles members and not for Flying Blue members?
