Interesting. Where do you get this data from? I checked KVS which also shows 3 flights to MXP, with the 1631/1632 missing.

Indeed, I've just noticed that. However, the official [e-mail] communication from AF-KL clearly states 4 flights, according to the schedule I previously posted. I'm assuming the 16:20/17:05 slot has yet to be confirmed hence the 1631/1632 services not appearing on GDS.

Air France-KLM, Alitalia JV validity extended to late 1Q17

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pieter Elbers says talks between Air France-KLM and Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino) over the proposed extension of their joint-venture are still ongoing.

Speaking to Dutch aviation portal, Up In The Sky, Elbers said the venture, which was due to expire as of January 13, 2017, had now been extended to March 25.

"Though Alitalia has cancelled the agreement, we are still talking to them about possible solutions," he said. "If no solution is found, one of the consequences could indeed be that we lose slots at Milan Linate. Those slots are part of the agreement."

Alitalia's intention to withdraw from the partnership, signed in January 2009, has been known for some time. In May 2015, previous CEO Silvano Cassano terminated the agreement stating that it had been negotiated to the Franco-Dutch carrier's advantage at Alitalia's expense.

"They were negotiated when Alitalia was in a very different position, with the result that the agreements in their current forms favour the other party," he said. "Our business needs agreements which deliver equitable value to each party."

According to Italy's Il Sole24Ore newspaper, with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l) as a shareholder, Alitalia plans to take back its the Linate slots, given to Air France-KLM as part of the deal, and to start independently operating its own long-haul flights, as opposed to providing feeder traffic to the Paris CDG and Amsterdam hubs of its partner.

Mods, I think that it would be a great idea to merge the two threads into this one.

Apparently, AF is still codesharing with AZ on CDG-LIN in the summer schedule (June). And the AF fare on AZ metal is often the cheapest one. will that be removed shortly?

Yes, whereas other code-share arrangements under the North Atlantic joint venture will, nonetheless, remain untouched (at least for the time being).

Well this really sucks. I like Linate because I can take a taxi right to where I need to go in Milano. With the aptly named Malpensa, I have to take a train to a taxi or metro to get where I need to go. It's a pain and takes a lot of extra time.

I just went to Alitalia.fr to see if I can book to Linate. I still can for both AF and AZ, but nothing from LYS to LIN. Even in March AF is still flying to LIN according to this site.

I assume that booking in business class with AZ still gets good mileage earnings under FB?

... because, of course, given Alitalia's rude health and stellar performance, they can now re-negotiate from a position of strength....
It seems to me that some people at Alitalia need a reality check.
