Promo awards march/april??

Hello!

There are new economy class promo awards for may/june this year. No business class available.

Are there no (business class) promo awards for march/april?? Does anybody know?

Thanks!

Either it's a mistake (and the list usually goes through a number of iterations between first publication and its final version) or else they are now moving to a scheme whereby the booking period and the travel period are not the same.

The latter might actually be seen by many as a positive development - it gives you a little more ability to plan ahead.

Though, as you point out, if this is what they are doing, then it means the March/April timeframe won't have any promo awards offered.

Yep, all economy, and the only two long haul 50% off are Lome and Fukuoka. It had better change or this will look like an "exceptional" vintage!!

AF Europe - Amsterdam
This is -kind of- cool. In a way AF undermines all inbound european KLM flights with this offer.

Will they generally open up Promo space only for flights that currently have the lowest Classic space available? Or can Promo space also become available on days that currently only has the 'Expensive' classic or Flex availability?

This being summer time, most European flights are currently already out of the lower award buckets..

Well...the number of takers for an XXX-CDG-AMS and v.v. routing at those prices isn't going to be all that high, I would imagine. If you have enough time to squander on an otherwise unnecessary connection in CDG (in both directions if on a return ticket) and the meagre 25% saving appears worth it, or one just needs the cheapest available routing with all other considerations being moot, then fine. But given that such routings will require Promo space on both the XXX-CDG and CDG-AMS legs, and the number of promo awards is in general limited, I don't think that it's quite a case of AF "flooding" the market with a promo offer that will "undermine" KLM's inbound (why not outbound? it works both ways) flights.

They usually edit the list a few times; there has never before been a period (that I can recall) where there were no business offers at all.

True, you are -of course- right. I did not realise that this would work in both directions, but of course it does. Only if you want to fly XXX-CDG then you'll be only able to do the inbound flight (skipping the last leg to AMS).

Yes but on the other hand, what is truly unprecedented is having promo awards advertised for May-June with none for March-April. That is weird at best.

Did someone not tell Air France they're ending their BRS route next month? Bemusing...

KLM will continue to serve Bristol. They may just have used the wrong airline logo.

Previous promo period was until March, so we would only be missing April.

Hopefully! If that is the case this will be a very good promotion for BRS locals.
