I have flown CDG - AUH a couple of times. I have flown under an AF booking with AF flight number, FB, etc... And I have flown under EY flight numbers.
Both times I had access to the lounge in 2A which is one of the best lounges I have ever visited.
I was in Business, so there was no issue. I would assume that if you booked under EY flight numbers, the FB E+ would not work for access.

Flying Blue status only grants access when travelling on flights operated by a Skyteam partner (which Etihad isn't) or on flights bearing an AF (or KL etc) number even if the operating airline is not a Skyteam partner.

If they were travelling under an EY flight number, then of course they would have been refused.

I vaguely remember that there was a discussion on the topic of reciprocal FFP benefits when the agreement was signed. I think that the agreement signed in October 2012 covered some code shares but that other benefits (such as lounge access to elite members of the other FFP) was not covered at the time. I might be wrong.

As things currently stand, Flying Blue Elites travelling in Economy class on Etihad-coded (EY number) flights do not qualify for lounge access.

Indeed, but before we can even begin to contemplate the question of which lounge(s) may be on offer to us, we must first ensure that we are entitled to lounge access in the first place!

Both Goldorak and I replied in general terms that should enable the answer to be derived regardless of the specifics.
There was at least enough ambiguity and imprecision used in the original question - and in the subsequent "complain about access to "Ethiad lounge" from a flight AF in Paris" where there is no mention of codeshare or status - that the answers were framed such that all possibilities were covered.

I read the posts of offcm, who is FB elite+, as saying that he is using a AF code for a flight operated by EY metal. Hence the flight departs from 2A and the lounge in question is EY lounge in that terminal. I think that all parameters are clear. The question is not about a EY-coded ticket.

All flights from CDG to AUH depart from 2A, and all are operated by Etihad (although there is a wet-lease from Air France, which may have led to the confusion you reported elsewhere. Strictly speaking, although it's an Air France plane, it is technically considered as operated by Etihad).
Regardless, there is no AF lounge in 2A, so the lounge to use would be Etihad's lounge.
And any FB Elite Plus member in Economy would have to hold an AF-coded boarding pass and ticket to use the lounge, even if they ended up travelling on the AF wet lease. An FB Elite Plus member holding an EY-coded boarding pass and ticket would not have lounge access.

If I may, for once , disagree, the general rule is actually that an AF coded flight operated by a non-Skyteam airline will NOT grant lounge access for passengers flying in economy unless AF has signed a specific reciprocal lounge agreement with the airline in question. QF-operated AF-coded flights did not allow QF lounge access, MK-operated AF-coded flights did not use to allow access to MK lounges until AF and MK signed a reciprocal lounge access agreement this summer (there was still no access for AF plat when I last flew it in June), OS-operated AF-coded flight do not give access to the OS lounge but to the contract lounge AF uses, and I believe that the same is true for JL-operated AF-coded flights, etc. AF has signed reciprocal lounge access agreements with several of its non-Skyteam code-share partners such as AY, BE, and more recently MK. It is worth noting that even when they are signed they typically exclude guests.

I was not aware of this subtle rule !
We can imagine that for the AUH/EY question, there should be a possibility of lounge access in CDG 2A/2C (now that they are joined airside and that several Skyteam carriers fly from 2C) but maybe not in AUH.
Crazy rules

AF would give you access to its own lounges in such a situation (and I would suspect KL would too) but not other ST carriers unless this had been specifically agreed by AF. Your access to a lounge in such a situation is not governed by ST rules but by ad hoc arrangements that AF may have entered into, which may be with a ST airline but could equally be with anybody else. Even if operated by an ST airline, this would not be an ST lounge as such but rather a contracted lounge arrangement.
