Hilarious! Europe-Fort de France for 90,000 in Premium Economy Promo award (Europe-Havana the same), Europe-Ho Chi Minh City for 150,000 promo award in business (Europe-Seoul the same). The people who run Flying Blue are the Mr Bean's of the frequent flyer industry - funny in a ridiculous sort of way but a living catastrophe for everything they touch...

PS: here is a suggestion related to another thread: for all staff affected to Flying Blue, I think that GP tickets should not be available any more and should be replaced by a set amount of miles they receive every year and can use to book award flights consistently with the constraint of all other members (procedures, levels, taxes, availability, etc). Somehow, I feel that the spiral of disaster that they create would be reversed quite fast. After all, if you work at McDonald's, you are not expected to get a free meal at the 3* restaurant next door but to use the food your own restaurant actually produces.

I'm pounding my head against a brick wall in frustration.

That's what I get for sitting on a mountain of FB miles.

you'd better redeem them with non-airline partners ? even if options are limited

Actually, Europe-Caribbeans in economy class is pretty decent: 50 EUR surcharge in each direction, and 15000 miles per direction. Athens Paris Havana costs more or less then same as Athens Paris. Same for some middle eastern and northern African destinations.

Totally agree . Couldn't we get business promo's for 50,000 to Asia in the past....? Now 100,000....

Everything is Y is priced fine. FB's choice is to get their most frequent flyers pay for their least frequent flyers by making premium classes totally unaffordable in order to improve the lowest price of Y awards.

Sorry, but these Flights are no "Promo"-Awards. CDG-JFK 93.750 Miles? :-D
Air France, are you joking?

last year they offered most North American destinations from CDG from 25,000 (Eco) to 50,000 (Business)

now it's almost twice the price

I certainly love the consistency ...

Panama City in Y:

- Air France: 30K
- KLM: 45K

(for a round trip)

What a rip off!

Presumably this is because the discount for AF is 50% but for KL only 25%.

The discount is now variable!

I didn't see that one on the list. Are they still changing them around?

For some it seems better to get the classic award for the old mileage...

I'm happier and happier that I managed to spend all my FB miles in last couple of years ! Always used those for promo awards, paid 25k for US and 40k for Asia (OW) and thought it was reasonable.

In an attempt to burn what remained I booked some normal 50k/OW awards US-Europe couple of month ago. While I thought it was expensive,I had the possibility to choose flights/dates I needed.

And now this is the cost of promo awards! Really, AF never stops to amaze me

Regards,

El Puerco Volante.

JFK can still be booked. I only see it as part of the current and not the September ones...
