FlyingBlue Platinum with A-Club

Hello everyone,

I got an email a while ago about the fast track status for FB Platinum with A-Club of Accor, however, I did not enroll immediately but now when I try again with the link in the email it did not work even it said valid through March 2012!

Any advices and tips?

Many thanks!^

What, exactly, does "the fast track status for FB Platinum with A-Club of Accor" mean?

If you are talking about this promo, it has now expired. The idea was that your Flying Blue status would be matched by A-Club - not the other way around, as you seem to suggest.

I think there will be another promo like that 'soon'. Be it free gold or plat.

Do you happen to have a source?

Other than speculation in the A|Club forum, no. That's why I used 'I think'. But in the last 3 months or so there have been 3 to 4 promo's like this. A|Club hands status out like candy so, again, I speculate that there might be some in the near future.

^ Let's hope so!
I did not make use of the old promotion and it would come in handy this time.

For me too. In fact it could influence my choice of hotel for roughly...60 nights this year (in the same destination).

A-Club gives a choice for crediting miles on FB account or A-Club account (1€ spend in Accor group=1FB mile or 1A-club point, twice for Platinum A-Club)
FB is not interesting for me .
Better to keep A-club miles as you can redeem them for vouchers to pay hotel bills
To be compared to the last Air france buying back miles last year: 20000 miles for (around) 120USD,
for 20000 points A-Club...you earn USD 600 vouchers

But it takes a LONG time to earn A-Club points. It's a terrible program.

I make a mistake, it is 2 points for 1 usd, so 4 points for Platinum.
You win 2000 points for 500usd = 60usd voucher: 12% to be used for next hôtel. Not so bad

Except that the vouchers can only be used on flexible fares. Non-flex rates usually offer discounts which are much higher than 12%, which means that the real rate of return on vouchers for people who do not need flexibility is in fact much lower than this.

1)Yes, you are right, but I never book prepaid because I am never sure of my days for travel and I can cancel with no charge. It 's same when prices are lower or promotional just before.
2) Nevertheless in case you prepaid your room, you may pay all your dinners, spas massages and everything else with these vouchers.

Indeed but with all the free offers, it is nice if you've booked a Sofitel/Pullman anyway.
