Question: Using AirFrance/KLM compensation voucher for Delta.

Does anyone know if a compensation for denied boarding voucher awarded by AirFrance/KLM can be used on a Delta flight--They are all Sky Team members.

Yes, you can.

To use it, you have to call DL to make a reservation and tell them you are using the voucher. They will give you an address in MSP to mail the voucher (you have 10 days). Once they receive it, they will charge your cc for the balance owed and issue the ticket.

No, it is not that simple. When the paper voucher by AF/KLM is issued in Euros, then you cannot make Delta use that voucher. What you can do, is sending the KLM voucher to an address in Atlanta to have it transformed into a Delta eCert - but the responsible Delta person told me that may take a couple of weeks.

Booking over the phone with a KLM voucher directly is impossible. The voucher is usually sitting in 074 stock, so cannot be directly deducted from what you owe. In the worst case (that's what I had to do with my two KLM vouchers), you need to book at KLM over the phone and send the vouchers in afterwards. You may book flights operated by ST partner airlines but your ticket will be from 074-KLM.

So in a nutshell: you can *fly* Delta but the ticket is from KLM/AF.

Hello
Question 1
do you know if it is possible to use a EMD issued by KLM on the Airfrance internet site, or Air France call center?

I saw that flight operated by HOP are cheaper in the Airfrance site compared with what is shown in KLM for the same flight.

Question 2
It seems that I can use the EMD for flight worth less than the EMD value.
In this case I should get a new EMD; But do you know when I will get the new one with the residual credit?

Thanx
