Talking "Every day, 3% of AF/KL passengers fly on award tickets."

That's what Patrick Roux, Air France-KLM's director of marketing says, anyway!

From an article in today's Le Monde:

Le succès du programme d'Air France-KLM est tangible : chaque jour, 3 % du trafic est réalisé avec des billets primes. "L'équivalent de 37 Airbus A320", précise Patrick Roux.
Dépensez vos "miles" avant qu'ils ne s'envolent, Le Monde, 3 February 2010

Interesting how the journalist doesn't discuss Flying Blue's devalued program since April 2009; he only discusses earning miles on full fare Y and Business and with elite status.

It's obviously not a TF thread. His points are very general on the frequent flyer programme concept.

In that case, I wouldn't blame him too much. Though one remark about it at the end when speaking about miles expiration would have been the sign of some in-depth investigation.

People travelling on R1/R2 N1/N2 and other staff/interline tickets are NOT allowed to travel in First class on AF flights since many years now.

However, more and more staff people are travelling in Business now that Y is full and J is empty :s
