Is it true that they ruled out highjacking/terrorism at the very same time they announced they did not know what happened to the plane??? Do they automatically announce what they want you to hear, instead of the truth that they really still have no idea if foul play is at hand here.

Sarkozy is quoted this morning by AFP as saying "nothing is being ruled out."

New information provided by sources within Air France suggests, that the ACARS messages of system failures started to arrive at 02:10Z indicating, that the autopilot had disengaged and the fly by wire system had changed to alternate law. Between 02:11Z and 02:13Z a flurry of messages regarding ADIRU and ISIS faults arrived, at 02:13Z PRIM 1 and SEC 1 faults were indicated, at 02:14Z the last message received was an advisory regarding cabin vertical speed. That sequence of messages could not be independently verified.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8079122.stm:
Brazilian aircraft searching for an Air France jet which went missing with 228 people aboard in an Atlantic storm have spotted debris on the ocean.
Plane seats and other items were sighted 650km (400 miles) north-east of Brazil's Fernando do Noronha island, the Brazilian air force said.
It could not be immediately confirmed that the debris came from the Airbus.
The jet was heading from Brazil to Paris when it vanished about four hours into its flight, early on Monday.
Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral said the seats had been spotted by search planes early on Tuesday morning.
Also spotted were small white pieces of debris, material that may be metallic and signs of oil and kerosene, which is used as jet fuel.

Hi,
My wifes sister was working as flight attendant in the flight. I called AF around 16hrs GMT monday and then got a call back 20min later confirming that Clara was working on that flight. After that we have not heard anything more. Claras father has travelled to Paris to the crisis center. Thatīs all that we know.
