"Preferred Seating" Benefit on AF Mid-Haul?

Hello,

can anyone here shed some light on the meaning of the "Preferred Seating" benefit for Flying Blue Elites on Air France mid-haul flights, when booking plain Tempo class? I.e., is this supposed to imply a seat in the Tempo Challenge cabin even with a Tempo ticket, or does it just mean that you stay in the last third or quarter of the plane, but maybe get to sit right behind that curtain?

Thanks.

Right behind the curtain. Midhauls and longhauls likewise.

For long hauls, for example, on the route CDG-SIN (777) the rows 19 to 25 are 'reserved' for FF. Except that I just tried to book one for a friend who is Gold and AF told me they were all available but they do not understand what is happening as they cannot be allocated right now. They pretended an error in the system. It is quite funny to think that you currently have 7 empty rows (+ 1 row 18 which is the exit row) on a triple 7 for a supposedly full eco flight :-) And it is even worse to think this is presented as a benefit you cannot currently enjoy!

Right behind the second curtain. The first one separates the business class cabin from the Tempo Challenge cabin. The second one separates Tempo Challenge from Tempo.

For those who are not AF curtains experts :o , the first one is a "full curtain" (not only side curtains under the overhead compartment but also a long curtain in the aisle), whereas the second one only consists of 2 mini side curtains. It reminds you that, as a Tempo Challenge passenger (though paying just 5% less than l'Espace Affaires passengers in front of you), you are seated in Y, not in C.
