Sensible strategy?

I am travelling to the South Pacific on
business in late September (sigh) and it
seems the only sensible airline/routing
for the dates and times I want is Air France
from LAX. I am a Canadian (CP Gold) and
Air Canada (Prestige) FF. I am wondering
if anyone has any good ideas where I might
be able to stash the 10000 odd miles
from this trip where they might do me
some good. The best I can come up with so
far is putting them into Continental OnePass and use
them for an upgrade sometime I happen to
fly Continental, but the Frequence Plus
website is rather coy about its rewards,
so I may be missing something.
Perhaps a member can make a suggestion?

Just reluctant to let them go to waste.....

Thanks.

Putting those 10,000 and some points with Continental sounds like a good idea. If you have a Hilton account you could also put them there (10,000 miles become 20,000 points) and use them for hotel stays. From there you could also transfer them back into another airline (for example Air Canada) if you needed to. Unfortunately then, 20,000 points turn into only 3,500 miles...
