Elite status perks on a Prime ticket for someone else

I recently booked a last minute prime ticket for a friend departing from TLS.

It is my understanding that prime tickets for someone else get the same elite perks (FB gold status) as if I was traveling: extra luggage, sky priority, lounge access.

Unfortunately my friend was denied access to the lounge in TLS. Was she supposed to ask for a voucher at check-in desk?

I will soon book a prime ticket for my mother flying MRS-CDG. How can I make sure she isn't denied lounge access?

Did your friend by any chance enter his own FB number at any time before the trip?
That's known to mess up the perks transfer mechanism as the flyer's FB status overrides the ticket buyer's FB status.

I don't think she did. I can see the red Sky Priority image on her boarding pass, her status would not grant her SP.
As the lounge in TLS is not handled directly by AF, I am wondering if that is not the issue.

Oh, it could be then.

I often saw SP disappear when there had been a ST FF# mix up, but never brought a guest in a lounge without flying together… so I can’t help you on this. Maybe others will have more data points on this specific contractor lounge use case.

that only works for AF/KL lounges. Remember I bought an award ticket for a friend: CDG-FCO-ATH. My friend got access to the lounge in Paris but not FCO when it was with Alitalia.

In any case, as this is an unwritten benefit, I would never rely on it.
