U.S. to lift coronavirus testing requirement for flyers

FYI - effective this weekend
International travelers flying to the United States will no longer need to show proof of a negative coronavirus test before boarding their flights to the U.S., a senior Biden administration official said Friday, ending one of the nations last pandemic-related travel requirement. The requirement will end at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.

The administration official said science and data show the requirement is no longer necessary. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will reassess the decision in 90 days and would reinstate the requirement if necessary, officials said.

Shouldn't this be moved to the general Covid travel related forum ?

True, it is pretty general information. The first thing I thought of when I saw the headline was to post it here in the AF forum which is my "home" on FT (I don't visit many other forums), and where we've been discussing for a year and a half now travel with testing requirements. It was just an automatic reaction, but mods can move or delete the thread as they see fit.

No harm giving a heads up to the AFKL flyers.

My gripe was that it was in AF, rather than in Flying Blue!

My upcoming flight is with AF, though, so I hope they are aware of this development. I've seen elsewhere that they are not up to date with Tahitian covid entry requirements, for example 😄

We don't all hang out in the Coronavirus forum 😄

Yes, finally. I fly back home on Monday and so cancelled my covid-19 test appointment.

You're not the only one. Until a minute ago I had never even heard of that virus forum. Now that I do, I'm not the least tempted to have a look.

To add my datapoint flying to the US today, the 1st day of test not required :
Ready to Fly has been updated this morning mentioning clearly that test was not needed anymore and that only the vaccination certificate was required. I uploaded just the vaccine doc and it was validated 5 min later. At CDG, the Securitas person just asked to see the vaccine certificate and that was it. It took 30 sec. No more forms needed. All good
Funny to read the thread in the Corona forum where a few posters are predicting apocalypse, now that no test and no mask are required

Air France just sent me a copy of a now out-of-date attestation form (one which still requires you, in Section A, to declare yourself as either in possession of a negative test, in possession of a validated certificate of recovery, or declaration of qualifying for a humanitarian exemption)

The updated attestation form, which now requires only a declaration of full vaccination and a signature, can be found on the CDC website

I just landed at SFO and everything was smooth, no testing required.

Which attestation form did you use?

I'm guessing I won't be able to check in online for this trip....just got an email telling me I need a negative test

I travelled on sunday and no form was required. But maybe it was because it was not updated yet (I saw your other post with a new version with just the vaccine).

You should be able to do OLCI without problem, even if you didn't do "ready to fly". And if you did "ready to fly", it is updated since sunday with just the vaccine to upload.

I assume they are still asking for the attestation sheet at the gate in CDG, just to certify that you are vaccinated?
