TLV upgrading to A330 and A359!

Good news and hopefully the end of miserable fake Business Class to TLV.
A332 replaces A320 effective March 28th for the single daily nonstop. Then on June 13th, the A359 begins the 2nd daily nonstop.
Covid permitting of course.

This is excellent news and will hopefully push LH to do the same. I remember many years ago when LH used A310, A330 and even B747 from FRA to TLV...

Thanks for sharing. I am not convinced that this will remain. But I hope to be wrong.

Hallelujah, at last! Those flights on A320 were a nightmare!

The best part is that W is not being offered to TLV so PLT are free to pick W seats with a Y ticket.

PRG has excellent prices in J, boy I hate the A320 tho. This is fantastic!!! I have wanted to go to Israel for years, always tempted by LX cheapish fares on wide bodies. Thanks OP, I will have a glass on you!

Good news indeed . Personally I stopped the masochisme and switched to ElAl a couple years ago. The AF J on A320 on 5 hours journey was unbearable .
Very happy with the comfort provided by LY in J on 737 or larger aircrafts.

Unfortunately I'm a lot less optimistic than I was a month ago, despite Israel having vaccinated almost a third of it's population by now, they decided to close all borders completely.
I just got vaccinated in TLV with hopes of being able to resume travel ASAP.

Despite initial talks of enabling test-free and quarantine-free travel for vaccinated Israelis it looks like the government is having second thoughts given the unknown elements at the moment.

TLV was (compared to other destinations in the same area) a dirt cheap destination from a number of European origins. If the change does indeed become permanent (like you, I would not want to bet the house on it), I suspect that fares would then rise to be more in line with BEY-type prices.

It’d be interesting to see what the commercial strategy is for this route with the mix of Air France and Transavia flights from Paris.

This will LH with its A320neos put at a significant disadvantage!
(yet there is still LX).

Very good news indeed.
Actually, besides for LY's widebody rotations to Europe, the only consistent widebody service to TLV from Europe will now be AF, BA, IB & TK.

LX down gauged the route to A321's some time ago.
SN, LH, LX, OS, KL, A3, SK, AY, AZ etc... are all narrowbody service.
