How strict is AF with small children wearing masks at all times?

How strict is AF with small children wearing masks at all times?
Some relatives with young children need to go back to where they live and are concerned about the 2, 4, and 6 year old being able to keep a mask on. While the parents intend to make an effort, how strict should they expect AF to be if the kids aren't cooperative?
21h 55m total travel time - From departure to arrival, not including the time in the airports before and after - that is a very long time to expect little kids to keep their masks on.

Ethiopian Airlines would be their other option.
Any recent experiences would be much appreciated to help them know what to expect if they fly AF.
