AF cutting flights to HKG
It appears that AF is cutting quite a few flights to/from HKG in the coming days.CX too.
Then it seem to be coordinating with CX, so that the two airlines are alternating daily flights from 10 March or so. |
KL is also adjusting capacity

This is a bit misleading. For example in the week 8-14 March, AF188 only operate three/seven on 8, 11 and 13. My guess is that on three other days of the week, they put pax and CX260 (A350), and no flights on Tuesday. That's a total of six weekly, but only three on AF metal.

I think AF rebooks 1st on KL (and vice-versa) before even considering CX.
But note that there are days when neither AF or KL operate (like ( March in the week I selected). And little evidence of cancellation coordination between KL and CX. But I strongly doubt that two flights KL and CX on the same day make any sense given the loads. The seat maps are just plain empty in all cabins. |
There are both Special Prorate Agreements and interlining between AF and CX indeed.

It probably won't be long before a similar arrangement with KE on ICN. All companies are cancelling business trips to Korea. |
