Why are 30A/K (exit window) seats on 787 not premium?
Row 30 (30A, 30K exit window) seats on AF's 787 configurations appear to be economy selections, unlike the seats in between them. Any particular reason?

IFRC those seats don't have windows - I'm guessing that's the reason why. You would't expect a window on the other seats anyway, so it can be sold with premium. I'd expect a significant amount of PAX would complain if they paid extra for a window seat (and the extra legroom) but realised that there were no window.
Sites such as SeatGuru seem to mark "be aware," but the only obvious note is "proximity to lavatory," which would seem to affect all seats in the otherwise preferable row. |
Next time it would be nice to ask all your (similar) questions about 787 seating in the same thread instead of starting different ones. Thank you.

These are two (only two!) quite separate questions and someone searching for an answer to one or another in the future is more likely to locate the information they need if they are separate, IMHO (which also happens to be as a search specialist). I generally attempt to design my questions to perform well for someone searching for the same information I'm searching for -- that is, to perform well for another person coming along attempting the same information-retrieval task. The question of why AF does not designate these seats as premium in some way, seems to be entirely different than whether they and/or other seats are preferable; the only overlap is that the text contains similar words, while the meaning and significance of those words and the information they solicit has almost no overlap. Please police your own behavior and leave policing myself to me. Merci beaucoup. |
So is it missing a window or not?
We just changed flights and are now on this type plane CDG-MSP...I picked both window seats (free) in row 30. It probably wouldn't make me change seats if missing window...Leg room is more important...but missing window would still go into our decision.. Thanks for any help. |
